Dr. Michael Chow

Dr. Michael Chow

I was born and raised in Vancouver and love the Lower Mainland. I attended UBC where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and then Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1988. During my time at UBC, I had spent several years involved in immunological research, which aided my critical thinking. While in dental school, I was offered a student externship in Maple Ridge and it was at that time I realized I wanted to practice in the Ridge Meadows area where there are so many wonderful families. As a

dental professional, I stay up-to-date in the most current treatment options and value each patient as an individual who has entrusted me with their oral health care. Outside the office, I enjoy fishing, golfing, running, and skiing with my wife Dana and our two children.

Dr. Andrea Soo

Dr. Andrea Soo

Dr. Andrea Soo completed both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees at The University of British Columbia.

She has worked in a variety of smaller communities including Prince George and Anahim Lake and recently returned to the Lower Mainland from working on Vancouver Island in Comox, BC. Throughout her dental education, she received numerous awards for displaying excellence in

clinical performance and operative dentistry. She continues to expand her skills with continuing education courses that keep her up to date with the most current developments in dentistry.

Dr. Soo is known for her kind and gentle demeanour and enjoys talking and getting to know her patients. Her down to earth personality helps to create a comforting dental experience that makes her approachable and allows patients to feel at ease. With Dr. Soo, patients are kept educated and well informed as your overall health and wellbeing remains her top priority.

Outside of the dental office, Dr. Soo spends her time with family and friends including her pet pug, Tyler. She takes an interest in outdoor activities such as hiking, stand-up paddleboarding, and also enjoys the art of cake decorating.

Over the past 28 years, while raising my own family, I’ve had the pleasure of watching many families grow as patients in our successful dental practice. I believe we have a unique bond with all who join our office and love sharing stories and lots of laughter. When I’m not here, you can usually find me at the gym or enjoying outdoor activities with family and friends.

I have been working with Dr. Chow for the past 20 years and consider this office to be part of my family. I love the trust and friendships we develop with our patients. When not at work, you will find me enjoying time with my son and daughter, good friends, and other loved ones.

I have been fortunate enough to call Pitt Meadows my hometown for the last 28 years, where I have raised my family. It’s wonderful working at Dr. Chow’s, seeing so many families, friends and neighbours come into the office. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Chow, Dana and some staff members 26 years ago and feel honoured to be here with them again, along with the entire staff. In my spare time, I love spending time with my growing family, travelling and golfing with my husband.

Over the past two years working with Dr. Chow, I have felt very fortunate to be a part of this dental family. It has been a pleasure getting to know our patients and their families and I am looking forward to many more years ahead. When not at work, you can find me spending time outdoors or doing anything creative, from crafting to styling hair.

I graduated from Douglas College as a Certified Dental Assistant over 20 years ago. I have always enjoyed working in a team environment and strive to make all my patients feel relaxed and comfortable at their dental appointments. Always taking pride in my work, I am just as excited about dentistry today as when I first started my career. I have been married to Dr. Chow for 25 years and I enjoy our working relationship together. We

have two children, a son and a daughter, who keep us busy outside the office, driving from soccer field to soccer field! I enjoy being active with my family, whether it is running, hiking, golfing, or skiing. I am proud to be part of this wonderful dental practice and have enjoyed building relationships with many patients over the years.

I have had 20 fun years working beside Dr. Mike Chow and our dental team — looking forward to many more. As a CDA graduating from Vancouver Community College 35 years ago, I enjoy all aspects of dentistry, but my favourite is changing people’s smiles. My husband and our daughter enjoy camping with our new addition, Rebel, who is a two-year-old rescue Karelian bear dog.

I graduated from the University of Fraser Valley in 2013. I joined the Meadows Family Dental family in early 2020. Aside from the strong connections with my work family, I highly enjoy getting to know patients on an individual basis striving to make the dental environment comfortable for everyone who sits in our chairs. Outside work, you can find me crafting, cooking and spending time with friends. Growing up in a

small town in the Similkameen Valley, I love to escape the city and explore areas off the grid.

The dental field has always been my first choice. Graduating from the Dental Lab Technician program in NAIT, I made crowns and bridges for a couple of years before I discovered my true calling and enrolled into the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Alberta. Amazingly, 36 years later, I’m still a practicing hygienist — and I still love it! I’ve worked in perio and general dentists’ offices (five in total) and consider myself blessed to

be part of Dr. Mike Chow’s dental team for almost 12 years now. My husband and I enjoy golfing and travelling. And, with our daughter off to university, we see ourselves spending more time on those fun leisure activities once again.

I started my dental career 27 years ago and have worked as a dental hygienist for the last 25 years. I became part of the Meadows Family Dental team 12 years ago and during this time have had the pleasure of meeting many fun and interesting people, both patients and staff. While working through some personal challenges, I acquired an interest in holistic nutrition and I am currently working toward a diploma in

nutritional consulting. The lighter side of me has a passion for dance, a love of live music, and an appreciation for the outdoors.

Dental hygiene has been a great part of my life since graduating in 2002 from the University of Manitoba and I have had the privilege of being part of my beloved dental family since September 2004. I really enjoy seeing my patients and especially, getting to know their families. It’s an unbelievable feeling seeing their children grow from playing in our playroom to leaving for college or university- and that’s only seeing them

2-3 times a year! But helping my patients improve their oral health and seeing the results is, honestly, the best part of my job! The creative side of me enjoys baking and cake decorating. I found this passion while baking with my mom every Christmas- all those delicious cakes and cookies! Now, all my cakes are inspired by my family and friends. And I love that they have entrusted me to bake for some of their most special occasions including their weddings and birthdays! The other half of my life is all about my family. Family is the most important part of my life and my husband and I are lucky enough to have welcomed our brand new baby girl this past May 2013. She really is the light of our lives- her smiles and bright eyes bring us nothing but warmth and hope. It is truly an honour to be part of my dental family as we strive to bring you and your family the best possible care.

Kara (Hygienist)

Kara (Hygienist)

I graduated from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in 2016 and had the opportunity to join Mike’s team in 2018. I truly love my job as a hygienist and my favourite part is building relationships with my patients where we share a few laughs and put them at ease in my chair. Outside of work, my life revolves around my family and my St. Bernard! I also love to cook and explore the outdoors with my husband. I’m so grateful to call MFD my second family and look forward to many years to come.

Lana (Hygienist)

Lana (Hygienist)

My dental journey began in 2018 when I decided to move to Toronto to work toward my Diploma at the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene. After graduating in January of 2020, I moved back to BC where I began my hygiene career at Dr. Chow’s office. Becoming part of this close work family and getting to know each patient in my chair has been nothing short of amazing. I am extremely passionate about educating patients in

understanding the importance of oral health and its correlation with the body. My favourite part of the job is seeing improvement in my patient’s oral health while being able to build genuine connections with them. I truly love learning about you every day! In my spare time, I love to keep active, spend time with my family, friends and most importantly my 1 year old puppy Kobe.

I’m originally from Quesnel BC and have lived in the Lower Mainland for 7 years now. Prior to my Dental Hygiene career, I graduated with my BSc in Psychology from UNBC. I later realized that I wanted a career where I could be of direct service to the public’s health, and dental hygiene felt like a great fit. I graduated from VCC as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2017. In 2018, I was given the opportunity to work with Dr. Chow’s office

office and have enjoyed being part of this family ever since. As an RDH, I feel it is important to work alongside patients to help them better their oral health and overall wellbeing. I find joy in investing in patients and building relationships with members of the community. When I’m not in the office, you can find me at the gym, cycling, hiking, skiing or snowshoeing in the winter and spending time with family and friends.
